I have had pets and loved animals of all kinds my entire life.  My life changed in 2007 when I went out to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah to visit and volunteer.  I witnessed the life-changing care and rehabilitation of homeless dogs which enabled them to lead fulfilling lives and find their forever homes.  I realized then that caring for animals and making a difference in the lives of dogs and their guardians through training and education was what I was meant to do.  I adopted my sleep-over dog Sedona, a lab/pit mix who had been living in the desert with her mother and siblings, and brought her home from Utah.  We went to basic, intermediate, and agility prep training classes and I saw her confidence grow (as well as my own) and her spirit come to life with each new cue that she learned.  My passion had been realized - I knew then that helping dogs and people transform their lives and strengthen their bond through training was going to be my lifetime goal!

In April of 2009, I opened my pet care business, Peace of Mind Personalized Pet Care Solutions as well as began studying at Animal Behavior College to be a Certified Dog Trainer. I also became a certified trainer for PetSmart in December of 2009 and trained there for a year while getting my Animal Behavior College certification. I graduated from Animal Behavior College with honors in December of 2009.  I was fortunate to have been mentored by Bette Yip of Picture Perfect Pets who have been an inspiration with her innovative and effective positive reinforcement training methods.  I began team training with Bette in April of 2009 and quickly moved into the role of teaching classes independently.  I offer private behavior modification training in client’s homes and have directly impacted my clients and their dog’s lives through the bond that is built through positive reinforcement training.  A relationship built on positive interactions, consistency, and effective communication will build trust and make the training process fun and rewarding for both the dog and its handler. By training behaviors that are incompatible with the unwanted behaviors (such as sit for attention instead of jump) along with management techniques to keep the dog from practicing the undesired behavior, I am able to help people to have the dog they’ve always wanted!  I am extremely passionate about my role as a dog trainer as I know I am making a positive difference in the lives of both the dogs and the people that I work with to build a lifetime bond built on respect, trust, and communication.   You can have the dog you have always wanted!!!
